How do Minecraft skeletons behave?

The Minecraft skeletons are extremely hostile mobs that attack players and other characters. However, it only attacks during the survival mode and not during the creative mode. They can chase after players and baby turtles if they see them within 16 blocks.

Once they are in a clean line of sight, preferably 15 blocks, the skeletons start shooting deadly arrows every two seconds.

In the Java edition, the skeletons will also chase the players if they get out of range. In the Bedrock version, these Minecraft skeletons attack at a much faster speed if they see a player close to them.

The skeletons, however, can burn when they come in contact with the sun. They immediately go under the trees or the clifftops to escape the sun. But certain Minecraft skeletons are safe from the sun if they are in the Soul Sand, have fire resistance, wearing a helmet. Skeletons also remain safe in the water, as they cannot drown. They can become strays if they remain inside the powder snow for over 7 seconds.

Skeleton Loot

The skeletons drop off five XP orbs when killed. They could drop 0-2 bones, 0-2 arrows, skeleton gear, and armor if it was wearing one.

Skeleton Variants

There are over three Minecraft Skeleton Variants, all of which are hostile mobs. These are:

  • Skeleton Horseman
  • Wither Skeleton
  • Spider Jockey.

Where to find Minecraft skeletons?

Minecraft skeletons can be found in the Overworld biomes, within light levels of 7 or less. These skeletons will always be found in poorly lit areas during day time or hiding from the sunlight. In the Nether, you can usually find the Minecraft skeletons in the Nether Fortress or the Soul Sand Valley.

How do you defeat a skeleton?

Skeletons are hard to kill as they have 20 health points, so you would have to cause the damage of 20 points to kill them. As skeletons are always moving and chasing the players while continuously shooting arrows, you might find it difficult to defeat them. The best way would be to keep moving and stay among the sung.

Further, if the skeleton hits another mob, the mod would attack it. If you get the skeleton to hit another mob, it will help you kill them. Be sure to have Iron Swords, shields, and iron amour to defeat them.
