While Minecraft is a great game, at times you will feel that many of the terrains and biomes in the game tend to have a cartoonish visual and they don’t really get to be up to par with all the other things in the game. The Realistic Terrain Generation Mod for Minecraft is designed in order to help you generate realistic biomes that you will appreciate mainly thanks to their quality and impressive gaming experience offered here.
The mod is basically a variant of the original Realistic World Gen mod. However, this new mod does have a few distinct features that make it stand out of the crowd. The interesting thing here is that the biomes are kept the way they are. The Realistic Terrain Generation Mod for Minecraft doesn’t make any changes to the biomes, it just makes them look more realistic. This is not a bad thing at all, it just provides you with a variant of the biomes that you have never seen before.
The best part about it though is that this particular mod offers support for biomes added by other mods and it can generate quite an interesting experience for you as well. The mod is also a result of a larger number of contributors, it wasn’t created by a single person but that’s understandable.
While Realistic Terrain Generation Mod works with roughly all the biome mods out there, you will find a few that bring compatibility issues and thus you have to keep an eye out for them as they won’t work with it. these are the Wildycraft mod, the Mowzie’s Mobs mod and the TerraFirmaCraft Mod. All of these might generate startup problems when you want to use this particular mod, so it’s a very good idea to stay away from them.
When it comes to performance, Realistic Terrain Generation Mod offers a very smooth gaming experience but you might experience a few issues like stuttering and a few bugs here and there. Considering that the game is updated often, you don’t really get to deal with many issues like this too much, so you shouldn’t worry about it. There are some issues with biome transitions near beaches at times but for the most part the mod functions properly and it delivers a very fun gaming experience.
The mod might get a little bit of getting used to, but what you get is a solid terrain generator that works as advertised and which does provide you with a very good value. It’s a fun mod and you should consider installing it right now, but keep in mind the compatibility issues if you want a smooth experience.
