Bracken pack – Hello everyone and welcome back today. We will be examining the Bracken pack, developed by Bracken, which introduces 11 unique dimensions, numerous new bosses, items, and much more. So, without any more delays, let’s dive right into it.
Species
The initial addition brought by this data pack is the inclusion of species. Upon spawning in your world, you are presented with a book that allows you to choose which species you want to join. These species are akin to the origins found in the Origins mod, each offering their unique set of bonuses and debuffs. For instance, one species may possess the ability to teleport short distances but be vulnerable to water damage. The first dimension introduced by this data pack is the Underdark, accessible by digging down to y negative 62 in the overworld, which is approximately the lowest level where you encounter bedrock.
Biomes
Upon emerging from the deep slate, you will find yourself completely covered in it. However, as you begin to dig out, you will unveil a miner’s paradise of darkness. This dimension, known as the Underdark, offers a higher probability of ores spawning at all y levels. This means that you can discover more diamonds without having to dig as deep as in other dimensions.
Within the Underdark, you will encounter various additional biomes, including the eroded basin and fungal forest. The fungal forest is abundant with mushrooms that can be used for sustenance. Moreover, the crystal caverns, boasting the highest diamond spawn rate, are also present. These biomes feature unique structures, containing exciting new items like portal keys and spell books, offering a fresh and captivating experience.
Spellbooks
Spell books are abundantly scattered throughout this pack, offering new abilities for you to utilize. Among the more fundamental spells is the fireball spell, enabling you to summon and launch fireballs at your enemies. These new spells prove particularly advantageous when confronting the challenging mobs introduced by this data pack.
Mastering these spells is no easy task and requires some practice to become proficient. Additionally, venturing beneath y-level one in the Nether will transport you to the Sanctum, an unsettling blue wasteland inhabited by Endermen.
The Sanctum
Exercise caution upon arrival in this dimension as you will descend from the sky, necessitating proficiency in water clutches or access to slow-falling potions. One intriguing feature of this dimension is its 1-to-32 dimension ratio, meaning that each block in the Sanctum corresponds to 32 blocks in the overworld. Consequently, it serves as an even more efficient means of fast travel compared to the Nether.
The Sanctum also encompasses several noteworthy structures, ranging from colossal gears to decaying cities that may even contain Netherrite ingots. Additionally, new mobs inhabit this dimension. However, the most remarkable structure is the Sanctum Vault, a fully-fledged dungeon that culminates in an epic boss battle against Project Ruination, one of the five primary bosses introduced by this data pack.
Descend further beneath the Sanctum to encounter the Void, a predominantly empty dimension, albeit with a few hidden structures. Continuing deeper, you will eventually reach the End, the lowest layer of dimensions added by this pack.
These are the dimensions that exist beneath the Overworld, but what awaits beyond that?
The Faewild
If you ascend, the first dimension you will encounter above the Overworld, by either building or flying up to y 313, is the Feywild. This realm consists of floating islands perpetually shrouded in twilight, allowing mobs to spawn at any time of the day. Within the Feywild, you can discover fascinating villages and encounter naturally spawning phantoms, providing an alternative method to acquire phantom membranes without waiting for three consecutive nights.
Furthermore, if you continue ascending to y 250 in the Feywild, you will be transported to the subsequent dimension, Pax.
Pax
Pax serves as the celestial dimension where naturally spawning mobs are absent, making it an ideal haven for peaceful players. Within this dimension, you can stumble upon a unique double tree that has the ability to generate golden apples and may contain a species book, enabling you to change your chosen species.
However, the most remarkable aspect of Pax is the Pax Gateway. This portal grants access to all dimensions added by this data pack, as well as the ones included in vanilla Minecraft. Yet, to reach each dimension, you require a portal key obtained from the respective dimension’s structures.
The Pax Gateway also serves as an excellent means to reach the next dimension, Dormis. Alternatively, if you possess an elytra, you can also fly up to y 1550 in Pax to reach Dormis.
Dormis
Dormis, a prison dimension, boasts treacherous terrain that is challenging to traverse. The primary reason to venture into this realm is to confront and conquer the ruling boss, the Thrall. Within the Thrall’s courtyard, you can locate the boss, engage in a battle, and obtain the powerful new items it drops, including a spell book.
While these are the dimensions featured in this data pack, there are several others that await exploration. For example, Panakia, a swamp dimension accessed by wearing a creeper head while being near a creeper, offers a unique environment. Omnidrone, reminiscent of Tron, can be reached by sprinting into an end crystal. Vark Space serves as a fast travel dimension, where each block you traverse equates to a hundred blocks in the overworld, but reaching it requires being struck by lightning.
It’s important to note that some of these dimensions may not be as fully developed but have planned updates in the future. Hopefully, they will receive further enhancements and features as time progresses.
