The OSRS 1-99 Agility Guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough for leveling up the Agility skill in Old School RuneScape. The guide starts by explaining the importance of Agility and its benefits, such as increased run energy and shortcut access. It then provides a detailed guide on training methods for every level range, from level 1 to level 99. The guide covers various activities like rooftop courses, wilderness courses, quests, and more. It also offers tips and tricks to optimize training efficiency, such as wearing weight-reducing gear and using energy-restoring items. Overall, it serves as a comprehensive resource for players looking to level up their Agility skill..
In OSRS, agility is a base skill that affects everything from run energy to access to various shortcuts across the map.
While it used to be one of the slowest skills to level up, this has changed with the addition of agility courses that make it much easier to reach level 99.
To make it even simpler, we’ve created this in-depth OSRS agility guide so you can quickly learn everything you need to know about maxing out this skill.
OSRS Agility Guide: Level 1-99
In this guide, we will be covering every aspect of agility training, including several different methods you can use to reach level 99.
We will also be covering things you can do to temporarily boost your agility skill, as well as the quests you can complete for agility experience points.
This way, you can easily find the best methods for training agility without any unnecessary trial and error.
Why Train Agility In OSRS?
There are many reasons why you should train agility in OSRS, and it isn’t a skill you should put on the back burner.
For one, there are many quests that require varying levels of agility training to complete, including Recipe for Disaster and the Femennik Isles.
Agility is also needed for using many shortcuts around the map, and it impacts run energy, which determines how long your character can sprint.
Maxing it out also unlocks one of the best skillcapes in OSRS, which acts as a substitute for the graceful cape.
Things To know
Although agility is the third slowest skill to level in OSRS, it is also one of the most useful due to the perks it provides.
However, unlike some skills where you can spam an activity for XP, in order to level agility, you will have to either complete quests or agility courses.
This makes it take longer than other training methods, which is why only 56,000 players have achieved level 99 in this skill.
Don’t let that intimidate you, though, because we’re here to walk you through the easiest agility training methods in OSRS!
Tips & Tricks
Before we jump into specific training methods and quests you can complete for XP, let’s cover some useful tips and tricks for boosting this skill.
There are a few ways to boost your agility skill temporarily, which include:
- Elven Dawn: This drink increases agility by one but lowers strength by the same.
- Spicy Stew: When made with yellow spice, this food can boost agility up to +5.
- Agility Mix: Using this barbarian potion will increase agility by +3.
- Summer Pies: This consumable increases agility by +5 temporarily.
Players can also use Agility Potions during agility courses, which boost the success rate of clearing obstacles and raise the skill by +3.
You may also want to track down the Graceful Clothing in the Rogues’ Den, which reduces weight and makes clearing an agility course easier.
Recommended Agility Quests
If you want to gain agility experience while completing quests, there are a few that stand out as the best to take on.
However, many of them also have additional requirements that you’ll have to consider before starting them.
We’ll start off by covering the most accessible ones, followed by the higher-tier quests that offer the most agility experience.
1. Underground Pass
Experience: 3,000 Agility XP
The third quest in the Elf Quest series, Underground Pass, only requires a level 25 ranged skill to start.
While it is geared toward experienced players, if you have enough combat skills, it is relatively easy to get through.
Upon completion, this quest will give players 3,000 agility experience, as well as a pair of the best gloves in OSRS, Klank’s Gauntlets.
2. Icthlarin’s Little Helper
Experience: 4,000 Agility XP
Geared toward intermediate players, this is the first in the Desert Quest series, and it becomes available after the completion of the Gertrude’s Cat quest.
While it doesn’t have any official requirements, players should be able to take on level 91 monsters, and a combat level of 50 is recommended.
When completed, Icthlarin’s Little Helper grants 4,000 agility XP and access to the city of Sophanem.
It also provides one of the best amulets in OSRS, the Catspeak amulet, which allows wearers to communicate with cats.
3. Making Friends With My Arm
Experience: 50,000 Agility XP
This is a master quest in the Troll Quest series, and it directly follows My Arm’s Big Adventure.
A medium-length quest, Making Friends with My Arm, requires 66 firemaking, 72 mining, 35 construction, and 68 agility to begin.
While it is for high-level players, this quest can be great for those in the final stages of maxing their agility skill.
Upon completion, it will reward players with 50,000 agility XP, as well as 50,000 mining, 40,000 firemaking, and 10,000 construction XP.
4. Secrets Of The North
Experience: 60,000 Agility XP
Secrets of the North is another master-level quest, and it requires 69 agility, 64 thieving, and 56 hunter skill levels to begin.
It is also recommended that players have at least a level 85 in combat as well, along with poison protection, due to the enemies in the area.
However, this quest is one that awards the most agility XP, giving players 60,000 upon completion.
Fastest Method
If you want to train agility as quickly as possible, there are many methods you can use to gain XP, thanks to the many agility courses around the map.
However, some of these courses offer more XP than others and have different requirements to complete.
Because of this, you will need to take on different courses as you gain levels to gain the most experience per hour.
Levels 1-10: Gnome Stronghold Agility Course
If you’re just starting out, you’ll want to head over to the Gnome Stronghold Agility Course.
Starting at level 1, it should take you around 13 and a half laps in order to reach level 10 in agility.
However, experience at this course caps out at 8,000 per hour, so you won’t want to stick around once you’ve reached your goal.
Levels: 10-30: Draynor Village Rooftop Course
Once you’ve hit level 10, you can head over to the Draynor Village Rooftop Course and start earning Marks of Grace.
This course provides 9,000 XP per hour, and it will take about 102 laps in order to reach level 30.
Optionally, when you hit level 20, you can also head over to Al-Kharid’s Rooftop Couse, which provides slightly more XP, but only if you’re using stamina potions.
That said, for most players, it’s better to just stay at Draynor Village until level 30 has been achieved.
Levels 30-40: Varrock Rooftop Course
At level 30, you’ll want to start at the Varrock Rooftop Course with some stamina potions.
These potions will allow you to restore 20% of your run energy while reducing the rate of depletion by 70% for two minutes.
Using stamina potions, players can earn about 13,200 XP per hour at the Varrock Rooftop Course.
It will take roughly 101 laps to reach level 40 if you’re able to complete each lap optimally.
Levels 40-60: Canifis Rooftop Course
From levels 40 to 60, you will want to head to the Canifis Rooftop Course, where XP rates can vary between 14,000 and 19,000.
However, this is also where you will hit a bit of a crossroads in your agility training journey.
If you want to grab the Graceful Outfit, you will need to stay at this course until level 60, which will take about 968 laps.
That said, from levels 50 to 60, you can also head to the Falador Rooftop Course, which offers 26,000 agility XP per hour.
On the Falador Course, it will take about 392 laps in order to reach level 60, saving a bit of time.
Levels 60-80: Seers Village Rooftop Course
Once you hit level 80, you can move on to the Seers Village Rooftop Course, which provides 45,000 XP per hour.
If you have access to the Seers Village Bank Teleport, you can increase this to 56,000 XP per hour as well.
While you can go to the Pollnivneach Agility Course at level 70, it requires more attention for only a little more XP, and it isn’t necessary for more players.
We would recommend just sticking it out in the Seers Village unless you’re able to access the Hallowed Sepulchre, which we’ll cover below.
Levels 80-90: Rellekka Rooftop Course
When you’ve hit level 80, you can move to the Rellekka Rooftop Course if you want to gain Marks of Grace.
However, if you’re only after experience points, you should stay at the Seers Village Rooftop Course until level 82.
Once you’ve reached 82, you can access one of the doors in The Hallowed Sepulchre, which will offer 65,000 XP per hour.
That said, if you can’t access Hallowed Sepulchre, you can also remain at the Seers Village course until level 90.
Levels 90-99: Ardougne Agility Course
For the final few agility levels, you can head to the Ardougne Agility Course, which is a less click-intensive training option for level 90 and above.
This course also has the highest drop rate for Marks of Grace, making it worthwhile if you’re after those.
Players can gain between 59,000 and 62,000 XP here per hour, which is the highest outside of The Hallowed Sepulchre.
Although we would definitely recommend using The Hallowed Sepulchre, it is certainly possible to easily hit level 99 using the Ardougne Agility Course alone.
Alternative Method
Speaking of The Hallowed Sepulchre, it offers a great alternative way of leveling up quickly.
However, it requires the completion of the Sins of the Father quest and can only be started at level 52.
If you are able to access it, Hallowed Sepulchre consists of five floors, each of which is unlocked with higher levels of agility.
You can either train here from level 52 exclusively or use it alongside the other courses we’ve mentioned above.
Levels 52-99: Hallowed Sepulchre
In the Hallowed Sepulchre, there are five floors that can be unlocked at agility levels 52,62,72,82, and 92, respectively.
This is one of the most challenging agility courses in the game, and it is a very click-intensive training option.
However, it has the potential to offer up to 95,000 XP per hour once you hit level 92, and the loot is also worthwhile.
If you also have a high thieving skill, you can make over 2 million gold per hour, making this one of the most profitable training areas in OSRS.
That said, there are a lot of traps in Hallowed Sepulchre, so you’ll want to bring the best foods for healing and have at least 70 HP.
It is also recommended to bring a Saradomin item, which can be used at obelisks to restore run energy.
The Barbarian Fishing Method
There are two methods of barbarian fishing: heavy rod and bare-handed.
Heavy rod barbarian fishing requires 48 fishing, 15 strength, and 15 agility, while bare-handed requires 55 fishing, 35 strength, and 15 agility.
While this method in no way replaces the methods we covered above, it is something different that provides small amounts of agility experience.
Otto Godblessed can teach both fishing methods, and along with agility training, this can be a good way to improve both strength and cooking.
If you were to use Barbarian Fishing to max out your fishing skill, you would be able to hit over level 70 in agility as well.
Though this takes a lot of fishing, this method can be a good way also to train a lot of other skills while getting fairly high in agility.
Summary
We hope you have enjoyed our OSRS Agility training guide and learned everything you need to max out your skill.
While we won’t sugarcoat how long the grind will be, it is worth it for the perks that come along with it.
Being able to use all of the shortcuts around the map is often reason enough for players to chase this skill to 99.
Plus, you can unlock a pretty awesome cape to show off your achievement to all the other players!
