A Clash Royale Tier List is a ranking of the best and most effective cards in the game, from S-Tier (the strongest) to F-Tier (the weakest). The list takes into consideration factors like card versatility, usage rate, and win rates. The S-Tier cards are known for their power and are commonly used in top-ranked decks, while F-Tier cards generally lack firepower or have specific limitations. The Tier List helps players strategize their deck compositions and make informed decisions on which cards to include in their lineup to maximize their chances of victory..
We are showcasing our Clash Royale Tier List in this article.
CLASH ROYALE TIER LIST
Clash Royale is a free-to-play real-time strategy mobile game developed and published by Supercell in March 2016. It combines game elements such as collectible cards, tower defense, and multiplayer online battle arena – all of which helped the game to gain massive popularity and become a global hit!
For the most part of the game, you will have to create a deck of cards which you will then use in the Arena to battle out your enemies. In a game like this, it’s very easy to be stuck in a choice paralysis because of the sheer amount of cards you have to go through.
But worry not! In this article, we will help you pick out your Troops deck. While there are other card types in the game (Buildings and Spells), Troops make up the majority of it, and they are your ground units that you use to build up your battle deck and are your main offensive cards.
If you’re looking to win with a breeze (who isn’t?), then the cards on the upper tiers of this list are those that you should be looking out for and adding to your main deck.
Let’s get started!
CLASH ROYALE TIER LIST: TROOPS
(COMMON • RARE • EPIC • LEGENDARY)
S-TIER
These select Troops cards have maintained their dominance over other cards, proving to be incredibly useful and powerful in almost all deck builds we’ve seen in the game so far. Be sure to add these to your battle deck!
- Electro Spirit
- Witch
- Fisherman
- Ice Golem
- Baby Dragon
- Bats
- Skeleton Army
- Goblins
- Spear Goblins
- Archer
- Hog Rider
- Dark Prince
A-TIER
Troops on this tier are packed with good skills and abilities, but most only work in certain decks. If you have this in your battle deck, you’d still be good to go!
- Minion Horde
- Bandit
- Knight
- Skeletons
- PEKKA
- Mega Knight
- Lumberjack
- Ice Spirit
- Electro Dragon
- Mega Minion
- Skeleton Dragon
- Flying Machine
B-TIER
This is what we call the niche troops; they’re not so bad and can still contribute to your deck. Cards on this tier may have a powerful role and can be extremely good BUT (and that’s a big but) only for a few scenarios. They usually have weaknesses and vulnerabilities that can be expensive to your gameplay.
- Prince
- Giant Skeleton
- Royale Ghost
- Goblin Gang
- Royal Recruits
- Mini PEKKA
- Valkyrie
- Barbarians
- Battle Healer
- Inferno Dragon
C-TIER
Now, these cards are pretty low on the rankings and are only viable in a handful of situations. Let’s just stick with the upper-ranked cards, why don’t we?
- Elite Barbarians
- Rascals
- Night Witch
- Heal Spirit
- Dart Goblin
- Bowler
- Princess
D-TIER
Meh. If you have other cards available, then you can probably ignore these ones as they won’t really bring much to your deck and are full of vulnerabilities. Let’s move on!
- Guards
- Fire Spirit
CLASH ROYALE TIER LIST: CHAMPION TROOPS
In the October 2021 patch, Clash Royale added a new card rarity in the Troops cards, the Champions, which have unique features and set of abilities than the rest of the Troops.
These cards can have a massive impact on the gameplay, so it only makes sense for them to have an entirely separate tier list. There are only three Champions currently, and we’ve ranked them below:
CLASH ROYALE TIER LIST: S-TIER
-
Skeleton King
His ability to collect souls of any form of life defeated in the battlefield (whether it be a friend or foe), and then summon (Soul Summoning) them to join his squad in the form of Skeleton makes Skeleton King worthy of his title (a King!), and a force to be reckoned with especially if your deck has additional troops that can protect your skeleton army – for example, you can use Firecracker’s ability to shoot down buildings or troops that are trying to target your skeletons.
A-TIER
-
Archer Queen
She’s the queen of all Archers and has a powerful glass cannon with her crossbow that she can fire rapidly, rocking the entire Arena. What’s more, she can turn herself invisible using her Cloaking Cape ability. Her invisibility makes her elude attacks for a while, while also increasing her fire output significantly. Take note though, you still need to be careful as Archer Queen is extremely vulnerable to heavy spells, and large swarms of troops. Keep the Queen protected!
B-TIER
-
Golden Knight
Golden Knight’s special ability, Dashing Dash, makes him run around the arena until he hits an enemy, then continues to dash through another enemy up to 10 times, while staying invulnerable the whole time! His weakness is when the enemy activates their King’s Tower.
FINAL THOUGHTS
And that’s it for our ranking of the Troops cards in Clash Royale.
We hope this helped you to start building an offensive battle deck. With great powers comes great responsibility, and in Clash Royale, that is keeping an eye on your heroes–sure they are powerful, but they are not indestructible. Your next task should be to pick which Buildings and Spells will complement your Troops the most, either by magnifying their abilities or protecting them from elements that target their weaknesses.
Also, be sure to work on getting the Champion Cards as well, as they will bring a massive shift in your offensive abilities.
Lastly, don’t forget the most important thing, have fun playing Clash Royale!
