The Katana is the legendary Japanese blade which is famous all over the world. Using this weapon, you will have fast-paced hack and slash combat action like that in Devil May Cry series. There is a variety of Katana are added into Minecraft by the Slash Blade Mod, and each one has its special combo attacks. They are replicas of famous blades such as Yamato or Muramasa, having different skills and abilities to further enhance your slashing experience. For example, some blades can pull mobs closer to attacks, while others can shoot energy projectiles for long range attacks.
Especially, most blades have a very vast area of attack. Thus, if you are surrounded by a group of monsters, you do not need to worry because you can mow them down with ease just by a single katana. It is advised for you to install TooManyItems or Just Enough Items Mod to manage recipes of the Katana better, because they are quite complicated.
How to install:
- Download Minecraft Forge
- Right click, Run as Administrator and press OK to install Forge. (You can skip this step if you’ve installed Minecraft Forge)
- Open Start on desktop => Open Run (Or you can use the Windows +R keyboard shortcut)
- Type %appdata% into Run and press enter
- Go to folder /.minecraft/mods
- Put the jar file of mod into mods folder and then run Minecraft. Done!

how the fuck are you supposed to pick up dropped weapons? did they change it so that in 1.11.2 you can’t retrieve anything that falls on the floor?

Maybe a stupid question, but…
Can anyone explain how to make the katana display stand. It’s explained in one video for about a split second and I couldn’t recreate what he did.
Let me just say that this is one of THE best Katana mods I’ve ever seen. But, the way I see it, it has a few drawbacks. First and foremost: Durability. The katana’s durability absolutely SUCKS, and when you finally get your hands on a good one, it’s gone in one night, and takes forever to repair. this also brings us to another issue: the katanas are retardedly tedious to maintain and even obtain. I can accept that to make a masterpiece, you need lots of time and preparation, gut that masterpiece was meant to last for a long while, and if you take it away within a few minutes, it just feels like you’ve been working really hard for nothing. If you could just grade up the katana’s durability so it lasts a good 6 or 7 times longer, I would be completely satisfied.
But with all of it’s drawbacks, this mod has some AMAZING potential, what with the absolutely GORGEOUS modeling and animation, and that thing it does when you drop it and it sticks in the ground is just beautiful. Also, the Iaido techniques and the combo bar are an amazing combat aspect. My favorite characters in any video game are the middle-aged samurai Iaido dudes like Mitsurugi or Jetstream Sam or even Atomic Samurai, and now, I get to BE one of them.
