Rediscovered Mod for Minecraft is promised to remove useless, unimplemented files from your Minecraft world. Like its name, it covers a wide variety of topics that could have made it into the vanilla game but sadly, did not. In fact, that is one of my goals for this mod! To possibly see some of these features added into the vanilla game!

Why is it in this mod?
The quiver is an unused sprite in Minecraft’s files, and the leather-chain armor was a group of unused sprites. Click here to learn more about the quiver’s history here to learn more about the Leather-Chain armor.

NOTE: To wear armor with the quiver, you must craft a quiver with the chestplate of your choice. This provides protection and gives the power of the quiver! However, this is a TEMPORARY solution.
Why should I care?
The quiver can be really useful during epic battles. And it looks AWESOME!

Pigmen Villages, Rubies, and Green Testificates
====
Pigmen are here! These little fellas are a lot like testificates but offer much better trades… With rubies! These gems were supposed to be used to trade with testificates, but Jeb decided to use emeralds instead. They can be found in ores level 45 and below and can be crafted into a Block of Ruby when you fill all the spaces in the crafting grid. You can find a whole village of these fellas randomly throughout the Sky Dimension. As for the green villager, he has been captured by the Pigmen and is now their prisoner! He can be found in the jail within a Pigmen village.
Why is it in this mod?
Rubies were replaced by emeralds, pigmen have been planned on being added to villages, but never were, and green testificates have a texture but don’t actually spawn. To learn about pigmen, go here.
To learn about Rubies and Ruby Ores, go here.
To learn about green testificates, go here.
What does it do?
Pigmen can provide actually fair trades by asking for rubies, which are much easier to obtain than emeralds.
Why should I care?
You can run the testificate economy into the ground by trading with pigmen instead! Also, the pigmen villages have a couple of chests with some pretty nice loot. Try to get to it all before getting attacked by the armed pigmen soldiers and Black Steve/Beast Boy!
====
Fish Mob
====
This is the fish! No, not that thing that comes out of nowhere when you pull a fishing rod out of water. This is an actual mob that Notch was planning on adding in the Halloween Update, but never got around to it.
Why is it in this mod?
They has been thought of being added, but never was. Click here to learn more about the fish’s history.
What does it do?
The fish drops… well, fish when killed! It also naturally spawns anywhere where a large enough body of water is present.
Why should I care?
It provides more to the ambiance part of Minecraft.
====
Lost Mobs
====
These are the Lost mobs of indev! They were added by Dock, who used to work for Mojang, using MD3 modeling*, but were removed when he left. Originally, none of them had moving animations (the animation code was unused so they sort of ice skated all over the place), but thanks to Exalm, he was able to have the moving animations work again! Rana and Steve spawn once per testificate village, while Black Steve and Beast Boy each spawn once per Pigman Village and are initially hostile.
*Also, a HUGE thanks to Exalm for the original MD3 models and getting them to work in modern Minecraft
Why is it in this mod?
They has been removed from Minecraft’s files. Click here to learn more about Rana’s history, or click here to learn about Steve’s history. Click here to learn about Black Steve and here to learn about Beast Boy.
What does it do?
Rana drops 0-2 apples when killed (Why would you do such a thing?)
Steve, Black Steve, and Beast Boy drops one of the following:
String (1-2) on death. (Most common)
Feather (1-2) on death.
Gunpowder (1-2) on death.
Flint and Steel (?) on death. (Extremely rarely)
Why should I care?
Rana can provide company on those lonely evenings in Minecraft while Steve can protect you from the dangers of the night, and Black Steve and Beast Boy are the protectors of the Pigman Villages in the Sky Dimension.
====
Giants And Undead Horses
====
They’re ginormous! The giants have been in the code but do not spawn naturally. In this mod, they now spawn naturally in the Sky Dimension and have a spawn egg. The undead horses (Skeleton and Zombie) now spawn in the wild at night, are hostile, and have a spawn egg
Why is it in this mod?
They all have been unused in Minecraft’s files. Click here to learn more about Giants and here to learn more about the undead horses!
What does it do?
They naturally spawn and are hostile. The giants drop 0-2 normal gold apples upon death AND will rarely drop either a ‘Notch’ apple (the newish gold apple that takes gold blocks to make), a gold ingot, or even a diamond! The horses drop rotten flesh and leather or bones depending on the type.
Why should I care?
They can pose as a tough challenge and provide a sweet reward for defeating them.
====
Sky Dimension and Red Dragons
====
The opposite of the Nether! Yes this dimension is almost like a dream filled with floating islands, a never-ending daytime, giants, red dragons and A SECRET! To get to the dream, you must craft the mysterious “Dream Bed” which causes you to have wild dreams when you sleep in it. You will wake up in a house, but not YOUR house… You step outside to see a whole new world to explore, filled with Giants, Red dragons, and Pigmen VIllages! Just use the dream bed in the house to wake up in the normal world.
Why is it in this mod?
The Sky Dimension has been unimplemented, then unused, then replaced by The End, and then removed from the files… twice. The red dragons were mentioned multiple times but never actually implemented. Click here to learn more about the Sky Dimension and here to learn more about the red dragon.
What does it do?
It provides a new dimension to explore and have fun with. It has many dream-like qualities. You will wake up in a house, but not YOUR house… You step outside to see a whole new world to explore! Giants naturally spawn here so make sure to come prepared if you are looking for a fight! Red dragons also spawn naturally but VERY RARELY and drop one Red Dragon Egg and some Crying Obsidian when killed. Pigmen VIllages can be found throughout. Just use the dream bed in the house to wake up in the normal world.
Why should I care?
Impossibru Giants! Epic Red Dragons! Pigmen Villages! And some cool terrain too.
